Mayfield Police Department investigating fatal knife injury in Mayfield

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Mayfield Police Department is investigating the death of a Mayfield man following a reported accidental knife injury.

Police said officers responded around 11:45 p.m. May 18 to the 1400 block of South 14th Street. Upon arrival, officers identified the victim as Arthur Eaton, 42, of Mayfield.

Mayfield EMS transported Eaton to a local hospital, where lifesaving efforts were attempted. Eaton later died from his injuries.

Authorities said the death remains under investigation.
