Fourth suspect arrested in Carbondale shots-fired investigation

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) — City of Carbondale Police Department arrested a fourth suspect in connection with a shots-fired investigation from earlier this month.
Police said officers responded around 3:46 a.m. May 13 to the 700 block of South Lewis Lane after reports of gunfire. During the initial investigation, three suspects were identified and arrested.
Investigators later identified 31-year-old Devon S. Parnell of Carbondale as an additional suspect.
Police said officers obtained a Jackson County arrest warrant charging Parnell with aggravated discharge of a firearm.
According to police, officers located and arrested Parnell around 7:30 p.m. May 20 in the 300 block of South Crestview Street.
Parnell was taken to the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Police said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Carbondale Police Department.
