CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will resume lane restrictions on U.S. 45x/Kentucky Avenue in Paducah on Tuesday, May 26.
Crews will be working at Kentucky Avenue and S. 24th Street (mile point 0.36) Tuesday through Friday, weather permitting. Motorists should expect one-lane traffic in both directions and are urged to use caution.
The overall scope of work includes asphalt resurfacing and roadway reconfiguration along U.S. 45x/Kentucky Avenue from U.S. 45/S. 28th Street to U.S. 60x/S. 3rd Street, or between mile points 0 and 2.11.
The roadway will be converted from a four-lane to three-lane corridor, with two driving lanes and a center turn lane throughout, as well as bike lanes on both sides of the roadway.
The project will be completed in multiple phases, including concrete rehab, temporary striping, milling and paving, and permanent striping. There may be a break between work phases in June.
The overall project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
Route TT in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.
This section of roadway is located from North Street to County Road 488 near Dudley, Missouri.
Weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday, May 26 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
