Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation to host free summer kickoff event Sunday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation will host a free summer kickoff event Sunday featuring water games and swimming activities for children ages 6-12.

The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. and begin at the Shawnee Park Center. Transportation will be provided between Shawnee Park Center and the Jefferson Community Center Pool.

Officials said children who choose to swim at Jefferson Pool must be accompanied by an adult.

No pre-registration is required for the event.
