Man arrested in Sikeston after brandishing firearm at police officer in Jackson

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Man arrested in Sikeston after allegedly brandishing a firearm at a Jackson Police Officer.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety say they were notified by the Jackson Police Department regarding an incident involving an armed subject identified as Dalton Ditto. Officers were advised that Ditto had allegedly brandished a firearm at an officer in Jackson, Missouri, before fleeing and heading south toward Sikeston.

Through investigative efforts and Flock camera technology, officers were able to identify and track the suspect vehicle entering Sikeston.

After searching throughout Sikeston officers say they later located the vehicle, a white 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, parked in an alley near the 800 block of Moore Street.

According to Sikeston DPS officers established a perimeter around the residence where Ditto was believed to be located. After verbal commands were issued, Ditto exited the residence and was taken into custody without struggle by assisting law enforcement personnel.

During the investigation, officers observed a firearm inside the suspect vehicle. After a search warrant was obtained investigators searched and recovered a 9mm handgun loaded with multiple rounds, including one round chambered.

Dalton Ditto was charged through Scott County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm due to a prior felony conviction. Bond was set at $75,000 cash or surety.

Sikeston DPS shares additional felony charges are anticipated through authorities in Cape Girardeau County related to the original incident involving law enforcement officers in Jackson.
