Two women charged after deputies discover cocaine in vehicle

MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Two women were arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop early May 29 in Mayfield.
According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a red Dodge van at approximately 12:38 a.m.
During the investigation, deputies searched the vehicle and identified the driver as Kathy A. Copeland, 63, of Evans, Colorado. A passenger was identified as Shenica S. Mangrum, 45, of Mayfield.
Authorities said the search led to the discovery of crack cocaine, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia.
Copeland was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, prescription-controlled substance not in a proper container and multiple traffic offenses.
Mangrum was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both women were arrested and transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center before being lodged at an out-of-county detention facility.
