CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) will resume lane restrictions on U.S. 45x/Kentucky Avenue in Paducah on Monday, June 8, for concrete rehab.
Crews are expected to begin between 17th and 19th streets (near mile point 0.8) on Monday, weather permitting. Other work zone locations will include 22nd Street; 16th Street to 13th Street; 15th Street; and 13th to 12th streets, though work may not occur in that order.
Motorists should expect one-lane traffic in both directions and are urged to use caution.
The overall scope of work includes asphalt resurfacing and roadway reconfiguration along U.S. 45x/Kentucky Avenue from U.S. 45/S. 28th Street to U.S. 60x/S. 3rd Street, or between mile points 0 and 2.11.
The roadway will be converted from a four-lane to three-lane corridor, with two driving lanes and a center turn lane throughout, as well as bike lanes on both sides of the roadway.
The project will be completed in multiple phases, including concrete rehab, temporary striping, milling and paving, and permanent striping. There may be a break between work phases in June.
The overall project is expected to be completed by the end of August.
Route EE in St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve counties will be reduced as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
This section of roadway is located from Colony Church Road in St. Francois County to Route C in Ste. Genevieve County.
Weather permitting, work will take place Wednesday, June 3 through Thursday, June 11 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
