Dayempur Herbals to host annual herbal medicine workshop in Anna

ANNA, Ill., (KBSI) — Dayempur Herbals will host its 14th annual Herbal Medicine Workshop on June 20 at Dayempur Farm in Anna.

The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the farm, located at 35 Nubbin Ridge Road.

Participants will tour the farm’s medicinal herb garden, learn about growing and identifying herbs, and watch demonstrations on making herbal extracts and infused oils. Guided tours of the farm’s apiary, organic vegetable gardens and composting system will also be offered.

Guest speakers Susan Kamil, a licensed acupuncturist and clinical herbalist, and Anita Brown, a certified clinical thermographer and functional naturopath, will discuss using herbal remedies to support overall health. Topics will include blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, inflammation and liver health.

Organizers said plant starts, books, herbal supplements and other merchandise will be available for purchase throughout the event.

A potluck lunch will be included. Organic vegetable wraps, salad and cookies will be provided, and attendees are invited to bring a vegetarian dish or dessert to share.

Advance registration is $50 through June 18. Tickets will be $60 at the door, if available. Organizers said the event typically sells out.
