PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The Perry County Commission appointed two new members to the Perry County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Perry County Health Department Board of Trustees.
During its June 4 meeting, the commission appointed Robin Sims to fill the remainder of the term vacated by Joe Hutchison on the hospital board. Commissioners also appointed Lisa Bohnert to fill the remainder of the term vacated by Gwen Schweiss, who resigned May 28.
Under Missouri law, both appointments will remain in effect until the next municipal election on April 6, 2027.
“We appreciate the willingness of Ms. Sims and Ms. Bohnert to serve the community and support the mission of the hospital,” Presiding Commissioner Mike Sauer said in a statement. “Their service will help ensure continued leadership and oversight of the hospital as it works to provide quality health care services to residents throughout Perry County.”
The commission is also accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Perry County Health Department Board of Trustees following Schweiss’ resignation from that board June 4.
The appointed trustee will serve until the next municipal election on April 7, 2027, when voters will elect a candidate to complete the remainder of the term.
Applications will be accepted through June 30 and are available online through Perry County’s website or in person at the Perry County Clerk’s Office, located at 15 W. Ste. Marie St., Suite 2, in Perryville.
The Perry County Health Department Board of Trustees oversees the governance and operations of the county health department. Board meetings are typically held on the third Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m., with one evening meeting held every six months.
