Missouri lawmakers recap legislative session at Chamber’s First Friday Coffee

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — State lawmakers provided an update on the 2026 legislative session during the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce’s First Friday Coffee event Friday morning.

Missouri lawmakers John Voss, Barry Hovis and David Dolan discussed legislation approved during the recent session and reviewed proposed amendments that will appear on the August ballot.

The event brought together local business and community leaders for networking and discussion on state issues affecting the region.

The Cape Girardeau Veterans Home Foundation and Greater St. Louis Area Scouting sponsored the event. Attendees also heard the Pledge of Allegiance led by Henry of Troop 412.

Chamber officials encouraged residents to attend Freedom Fest on Saturday at Century Casino.
