ADVANCE, Mo., (KBSI) — Emergency crews temporarily closed Highway 25 on Monday after a concrete truck became entangled in power lines.

According to the Advance Fire Department, firefighters responded to the scene and determined the situation posed a significant hazard to the truck driver and passing motorists.

Both lanes of Highway 25 were shut down while crews secured the area and waited for SEMO Electric to disconnect the power lines.

Firefighters remained on scene until utility workers safely de-energized the lines, allowing the truck to be removed from the hazard.

The Advance Fire Department was assisted by SEMO Electric, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office and Cape County Private Ambulance.

Authorities reminded the public to stay away from vehicles involved with downed or low-hanging power lines and to call 911 immediately if they encounter such a situation.
