FOX23 News at 9 p.m.
CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) — Cape Girardeau County Collector Barbara Gholson is reminding residents they need a county merchant license to operate a fireworks stand this summer.
The license costs $25 and is required for each stand operating in Cape Girardeau County, including those within city limits.
The collector’s office sells licenses at its Jackson and Cape Girardeau locations.
Operators may open fireworks stands from June 20 through July 10, although city ordinances may set different dates and regulations.
State law also requires operators to obtain a fireworks license through the Missouri Division of Fire Safety.
Anyone with questions can contact the Cape Girardeau County Collector’s Office at 573-243-4476.
