Two arrested after rollover crash in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Two people were arrested Saturday evening after a rollover crash on Krebs Station Road, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded at approximately 7:16 p.m. to the 1300 block of Krebs Station Road and found a gray 2009 Honda Civic overturned and resting on its roof south of the roadway.
Investigators said multiple beer bottles and cans were scattered around the vehicle. The driver and passenger were located outside the vehicle and were determined to be under the influence of alcohol.
According to the sheriff’s office, video footage showed the Honda Civic losing control on a hill before leaving the roadway and overturning.
Witnesses told deputies they observed the occupants exit the vehicle and attempt to hide alcoholic beverages in nearby bushes. Deputies later recovered alcohol matching containers found inside the vehicle, authorities said.
Both occupants were medically evaluated, arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
The roadway was closed for approximately 90 minutes while deputies investigated the crash and crews removed the overturned vehicle.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hendron Fire Department, Mercy EMS and Stinnett’s Towing.
The names of those arrested were not immediately released.
