Carbondale Juneteenth Block Party to celebrate community unity

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The Black Chamber of Commerce of Southern Illinois will host its 2026 Juneteenth Block Party on Saturday at Attucks Park in Carbondale.

The event, themed “Unity in the Community,” is designed to bring residents together in celebration while promoting community engagement and fellowship.

Organizers describe the event as a free, family-friendly gathering that is open to the public and focused on creating a safe and welcoming environment for attendees of all ages.

The block party will be held at Attucks Park, located at 800 N. Wall St., and is scheduled to last four hours.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and is celebrated annually on June 19.
