CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Volunteers are helping provide healthy meals to local families this summer through the Tiger Bites Summer Feeding Program, according to the Saint Francis Foundation.

The program serves 36 families in the community and is designed to provide additional food support during the summer months when school is not in session.

Saint Francis Foundation recognized community partners who help make the program possible, including Schnucks-Cape Girardeau, Drury Southwest Inc., Pratt Industries and Jefferson Elementary School.

Foundation officials said volunteers work each week to pack and deliver nutritious meals to participating families.

The Tiger Bites program is part of ongoing efforts to address food insecurity and support children and families throughout the Cape Girardeau area.
