Five injured in two-vehicle crash north of Mayfield

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon north of Mayfield, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the crash occurred around 4:10 p.m. June 23 at the intersection of KY 121 North and KY 1276, about four miles north of Mayfield.

Investigators determined Sofia Soto, 17, of Mayfield, was driving a 2013 Hyundai SUV westbound on KY 1276 and was attempting to cross KY 121 North onto New Hope Church Road. At the same time, Brandy Crider, 48, of Lowes, was traveling southbound on KY 121 in a 2023 Jeep.

Authorities said Soto entered the intersection and pulled into the path of Crider’s vehicle. The two vehicles collided, causing severe damage to both vehicles.

Crider and four juvenile passengers in her vehicle were transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center with minor injuries.

Soto and a passenger in her vehicle were not injured, according to deputies.

Chief Deputy Jeremy Prince investigated the crash with assistance from Deputy Austin Caldwell, Deputy Greg Sloan, Mayfield-Graves County EMS and the Mayfield-Graves County Fire and Rescue Squad.
