Murray woman charged with first-degree assault after stabbing, deputies say

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Murray woman is facing a felony assault charge after deputies say she stabbed another person during an altercation early Monday morning.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on Kline Trail at approximately **2:30 a.m. June 29** after receiving a report of an altercation.

Investigators determined that during a verbal dispute, Laura French, 54, of Murray, allegedly stabbed another individual in the neck.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

French was arrested and booked into the Calloway County Detention Facility on one count of first-degree assault, a Class B felony.
