CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI)— Old Town Cape Inc. has selected Alix Gasser as its next executive director following a national search.

Gasser will assume the role on July 27. She most recently served as executive director of the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence, where she oversaw operations, fundraising, strategic planning and community partnerships.

Before that, Gasser held leadership positions at Southeast Missouri State University, focusing on membership growth, marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement.

An active member of the Cape Girardeau community, Gasser serves on the City of Cape Girardeau Library Board of Trustees, hosts the *Cape Chronicle* and is involved with Leadership Cape Girardeau and the Southeast Council of Philanthropy. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University.

“I’m excited to jump in and share all the amazing things that make downtown Cape such a wonderful place to visit, shop and own a business,” Gasser said in a news release.

Old Town Cape Board President Bonnie Kipper said Gasser’s nonprofit leadership experience and established community relationships will help the organization continue supporting downtown Cape Girardeau.

The organization will host a meet-and-greet for Gasser from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, at Katy O’Ferrell’s Publick House. The event is open to community members, downtown businesses and supporters.
