S.A.L.T. to dedicate memorial bench honoring Doug Austin

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — Seniors and Lawmen Together, or S.A.L.T., will dedicate a memorial bench this week in honor of longtime law enforcement advocate Doug Austin.

The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Law Enforcement Memorial in Cape County Park North.

According to organizers, Austin devoted countless hours to supporting local law enforcement officers through S.A.L.T. and worked to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

The memorial bench will serve as a place of reflection at the Law Enforcement Memorial and recognize Austin’s commitment to public service and community partnerships.
