US 51 Cairo Bridge closed until further notice

BALLARD COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) — The U.S. 51 Cairo Bridge has been closed until further notice, according to Ballard County Emergency Management.

Officials are urging motorists to use alternate routes, avoid the area and expect travel delays while crews assess the situation.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is expected to release additional information about the closure. Ballard County Emergency Management said it will share updates as they become available.
