Cape Girardeau Fire Department reports quiet Fourth of July weekend

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Girardeau Fire Department says firefighters responded to very few fireworks-related incidents over the Fourth of July weekend.

In a social media post Monday, the department said crews were able to enjoy fireworks displays in downtown Cape Girardeau and throughout the city instead of responding to numerous emergency calls.

The department also thanked residents for celebrating responsibly during the nation’s 250th anniversary festivities.
