Paducah man killed in single-vehicle crash on John L. Puryear Drive

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) — An 82-year-old Paducah man died after a single-vehicle crash Friday on John L. Puryear Drive, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around noon Friday to the area of John L. Puryear Drive and Estes Lane for a reported crash.

Investigators said Frank Colapinto, 82, of Paducah, was driving a 2017 Nissan Frontier north on John L. Puryear Drive when the vehicle left the roadway, traveled onto the east shoulder and struck a tree head-on.

Colapinto was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Ambulance, the Reidland-Farley Fire Department, the Paducah Fire Department, the Hendron Fire Department, Jason’s Collision Center and the McCracken County Coroner’s Office.
