JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) — The Iron Mountain Railway has expanded its collection of railroad maintenance equipment with the addition of several pieces of vintage track machinery.
The newly acquired equipment includes a tamper, inserter, tie handler, spike driver, dump truck and other maintenance vehicles.
Railway officials said the equipment will help volunteers complete track maintenance more efficiently while preserving the historic railroad and keeping it safe and reliable for future generations.
The Iron Mountain Railway thanked the Indiana Railway Museum, also known as the French Lick Scenic Railway, for the opportunity to acquire the equipment. Officials also recognized Midwest Truck of Scott City for transporting the machinery to Jackson.
