DEXTER, Mo. (KBSI) — The Dexter R-XI School District has partnered with Southeast Missouri State University through the SEMO Educators Advantage program, providing faculty and staff with expanded opportunities for professional development and higher education.

Under the partnership, district employees will receive tuition discounts on SEMO’s online undergraduate, graduate and paraprofessional pathway programs, making it easier and more affordable to continue their education.

District leaders said the partnership supports the district’s commitment to lifelong learning while helping educators advance their qualifications to better serve students.

“At the Dexter R-XI School District, we aim to create lifelong learners,” Superintendent Amy James said. “By partnering with Southeast Missouri State University to support the personal and professional growth of our staff, we are reinforcing our commitment to lifelong learning and educational excellence.”

SEMO President Dr. Brad Hodson said the partnership reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening local school districts and preparing future education leaders across southeast Missouri.

The Educators Advantage program is part of SEMO’s regional workforce development efforts, designed to make higher education more accessible and affordable for educators while supporting student success and community growth.
