Contractor damages underground power line, causing outage in Sikeston

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) — A contractor struck an underground electric line Monday morning, causing a power outage in northeast Sikeston.

According to the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities, the outage was reported around 11:20 a.m. and is affecting customers in the northeast part of the city.

Utility crews are on scene working to safely restore power as quickly as possible.

No estimated restoration time has been announced. Officials thanked customers for their patience while repairs are completed.
