One person killed, another injured in McCracken County crash

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) — One person was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in McCracken County.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 5:05 p.m. to the intersection of U.S. Highway 45 South and Old U.S. Highway 45.
Investigators said 68-year-old Cynthia Wilhelm of Paducah was driving a 2012 Nissan Altima southbound on U.S. Highway 45 South when a 2015 Nissan Altima, driven by 74-year-old Earl Rogers of Melber, was traveling eastbound on Old U.S. Highway 45 and attempting to cross the highway.
The two vehicles collided in the intersection.
Wilhelm was taken to a local hospital with incapacitating injuries.
Rogers was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Ambulance, the Melber, Lone Oak and Mayfield fire departments, Jason’s Collision Center and McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.
