PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) — The Paducah Police Department joined several community partners last week to help local students prepare for the upcoming school year during the annual Christmas in July event.

According to the department, officers partnered with McCracken County Public Schools, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, Explorers Post 111 and Paducah Area Christmas Cops for a back-to-school shopping trip at Kentucky Oaks Mall.

Law enforcement officers and deputies were paired with local families to shop for school supplies and other back-to-school items. After shopping, the students and their families were treated to lunch at the mall’s food court.

The Paducah Police Department thanked Paducah Area Christmas Cops and Kentucky Oaks Mall for helping make the event possible.
