Sparklight invests more than $10 million to expand broadband network in Southeast Missouri

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KBSI) — Sparklight announced it has invested more than $10 million over the past three years to expand and enhance its broadband network across Southeast Missouri.

According to the company, the investment has improved its fiber-rich network in Poplar Bluff, Dexter, Clarkton, Kennett, Malden and surrounding communities to provide faster internet speeds and greater network capacity for residents, businesses and community services.

Sparklight said the expansion extends fiber deeper into its service areas to support future growth and increasing demand for high-speed internet. The company’s fiber-rich network now spans more than 31,000 route miles.

Residential customers in Southeast Missouri have access to gig-speed internet, with speeds of up to 6 Gig available in Poplar Bluff, according to Sparklight. The company also offers fiber-powered internet, voice and managed services for businesses, including enterprise network solutions with speeds up to 10 Gig and beyond.

According to Sparklight, the investment is intended to improve streaming, gaming, video conferencing, remote work, online learning and business operations while supporting future connectivity needs.
