Extreme heat may delay trash collection in Jackson

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Trash collection in Jackson may be delayed because of extreme heat and high heat index values, city officials said.

Sanitation crews are following heat safety protocols, including working at a slower pace, drinking additional water and taking cooling breaks.

Residents should leave trash bags at the curb until they are collected.

City officials thanked residents for their patience as crews work to continue providing sanitation services safely.
