DONIPHAN, Mo., (KBSI) — U.S. Rep. Jason Smith visited Current River Packing, a new family-owned business in Ripley County, this week.

The company is owned by the families of Ben Samons, Brock Ray, Sissy Gray and Corey Kaczmarski.

Current River Packing’s facility can process about 90,000 eggs per hour. Planned equipment upgrades are expected to double that capacity, according to Smith.

Smith said provisions in the Working Families Tax Cuts legislation, including permanent 100% bonus depreciation, will allow the company to immediately deduct the cost of new equipment.
