Carbondale to distribute free fresh food boxes

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The city of Carbondale will distribute free boxes of fresh food beginning at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, while supplies last.

Residents may pick up one food box per household through the west parking lot of Carbondale City Hall. The food is being provided by Cusumano & Sons Inc.

Delivery is available for homebound Carbondale residents with mobility challenges who cannot leave their homes. Requests must be submitted by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4.

To request delivery, contact Faith Johnson at 618-457-3229 or fjohnson@carbondaleil.gov. Deliveries will only be made within Carbondale city limits.
