Veteran celebrates 100th birthday at Cape Girardeau home

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A resident of the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau is celebrating his 100th birthday Saturday with family, staff and fellow residents.

Elsworth is known at the home for greeting others with a smile and a hug, visiting over coffee and enjoying bingo and fishing trips.

Staff members thanked his family for inviting them to help celebrate the milestone.
