Fred Roché named leader of Marion VA Health Care System

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has appointed Fred Roché as executive director and CEO of the Marion VA Health Care System.

Roché has served as the health care system’s associate director of operations since May 2022. In his new role, he will oversee services for veterans across Southern Illinois.

Roché began his VA career in 1996 as an administrative resident at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville. He has since held leadership positions in Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and North Carolina, including assignments with the Durham VA Health Care System and Fayetteville VA Coastal Health Care System.

He earned a master’s degree in health administration from Indiana University in 1997 and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Roché also graduated from the VA’s national leadership development program in 2019.
