Spread Hope Now hosts School Fest Tailgate

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – A Back-to-School fest is scheduled to take place in Malone Park in Sikeston and aims to help around a thousand families.

Mari-Ann Moyers is the Spread Hope Now Director, she shares the School Fest Tailgate is designed to help local families through community efforts.

Close to 50 organizations will take part and the free event will have free school supplies, donated jeans, books and more.

“As a mom, knowing how much it costs, especially if you have more than one child it’s really important that we support these families so that they can have their kids there on the first day of school with everything that they need” says Moyers. “We don’t want kids to go in with confidence and ready to start their day and not feel like they’re already starting out behind.”

School Fest Tailgate will take place at Sikeston’s Malone Park on Saturday August 8, 2026, from 9:00-10:30 am, and the child must be present for supplies.
