Water main break interrupts service for Carterville customers

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (KBSI) — A large water main break caused a temporary interruption in water service for all Carterville water customers Monday morning.

City officials said the outage began around 6 a.m. and was expected to last about three hours while crews worked to repair the damaged water main.

Once water service is restored, all customers will be under a boil water order until further notice.

City officials said additional information will be provided as repairs are completed.
