Portageville School District to offer free breakfast, lunch to all students

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — All students in the Portageville School District will be eligible for free breakfast and lunch during the 2026-27 school year.

The district announced it is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision, a federal program that allows eligible schools to provide meals to students at no charge.

Students enrolled at Portageville Elementary; Middle School and High School can participate in the district’s breakfast and lunch programs without paying for meals.

Families will not be required to submit applications for free or reduced-price meals.

According to the district, meals served through the program will follow U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for school meals.

District officials said the program is intended to ensure students have access to meals and support a better learning environment.
