North Sprigg Street closed due to water main break in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A portion of North Sprigg Street is closed in both directions Thursday morning due to a water main break.

According to the City of Cape Girardeau, the closure is in the area of Normal Avenue and Washington Avenue.

Drivers should avoid the area and use an alternate route while crews respond.

The city said if a boil water advisory becomes necessary, affected residents and businesses who are registered for public works alerts will be notified.

No estimated time for the road to reopen was immediately announced.
