Marion High School dismisses students after bomb threat

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — Marion High School was safely evacuated Friday morning after the school received a bomb threat, according to Marion Unit 2 officials.

The district said students and staff followed safety protocols and were relocated to the Harry L. Crisp Sports Complex. All students and staff were accounted for.

Local law enforcement agencies are conducting a thorough search and investigation of the school building.

The district asked parents, guardians and members of the public not to come to Marion High School or the Crisp Sports Complex while the investigation continues. Access to both facilities is restricted.

School officials said updates will be provided through official district communication channels as more information becomes available.
