Animal Rescue Corps rescues 46 animals from alleged neglect at Tennessee organization

TENNESSEE (KBSI) – Animal Rescue Corps says it rescued 46 animals from a purported animal rescue organization in rural Tennessee following an investigation into alleged neglect and animal cruelty.
The organization said it responded at the request of law enforcement as part of “Operation Money Trail.”
Investigators allege donations intended for veterinary care were collected but the care was not provided, while animals were kept at facilities in Tennessee and Georgia under inadequate conditions. Animal Rescue Corps said one person associated with the organization has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty.
The 46 surviving animals rescued include 37 dogs, six chickens, two turkeys and one pig.
Rescuers also reported finding the remains of multiple animals at the property. Investigators allege one 5-month-old animal died from starvation and that some animal enclosures lacked adequate ventilation.
Animal Rescue Corps said the surviving animals now need veterinary treatment, food, shelter and other specialized care.
The organization is accepting donations to help provide care for the rescued animals as the investigation continues.
