Smoke detector prompts fire response at Carrier Mills municipal building

CARRIER MILLS, Ill., (KBSI) — Firefighters responded to the Carrier Mills municipal building Sunday after a smoke detector sounded and a light haze was discovered inside.

According to the Carrier Mills Fire Department, a firefighter went to the station and heard a smoke detector sounding in the kitchen of the municipal building. The firefighter called for assistance, and the department was dispatched to investigate.

Crews reported seeing a light haze inside the building. Firefighters conducted an extensive search but were unable to determine what caused it.

Firefighters from Harrisburg and Stonefort assisted at the scene.

No injuries or damage were reported.
