MARTIN, Tenn., (KBSI) — No injuries were reported after a house fire in Martin prompted a response from multiple fire departments Friday afternoon.

City of Martin Fire/EMS crews were dispatched around 4:56 p.m. Aug. 14 to a structure fire following a report that someone might still be inside the home.

When the first crews arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the residence. Officials said all occupants had safely evacuated before firefighters arrived.

Crews began attacking the fire, and incident command requested mutual aid from the Union City, Sharon and Dresden fire departments because of the size and intensity of the blaze and a heat index above 100 degrees.

Firefighters remained at the scene for nearly two hours extinguishing the fire and making sure the area was safe.

No injuries were reported.
