Vehicle fire blocks I-24 westbound at Lyon-Caldwell County line

LYON COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — UPDATE: One lane is open on Interstate 24 Westbound at Lyon-Caldwell County Line

Both westbound lanes of Interstate 24 are blocked at the Lyon-Caldwell County line due to a vehicle fire.

The closure is near mile marker 54.8, according to transportation officials. There is no estimated time for the roadway to reopen.

Drivers should take Exit 56 in Caldwell County and travel south on Kentucky 139, north on Kentucky 93 and then take Kentucky 293 to return to I-24 westbound at Exit 45 in Lyon County.

Motorists should follow posted detour signs and use caution in the area.
