MAYFIELD, Ky., (KBSI) — Mayfield Independent Schools are closed Thursday, Aug. 20, due to severe storm damage and widespread power outages across the area.

District officials announced the closure Thursday morning, citing safety concerns for students and staff.

The district said it will provide an update regarding Friday’s schedule as more information becomes available.
