T-Ravs launches Kids Eat Free meal program

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) — T-Ravs is launching a Kids Eat Free program with free children’s meals from 4 p.m. until closing Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28. Each free meal requires the purchase of an adult entrée, and the offer is available for dine-in customers only.

After the back-to-school kickoff, the restaurant plans to continue the offer every Monday throughout the school year.

“We’re starting our program, Kids Eat Free, every single Monday night. Just a little fun help to parents,” co-owner Jarod Handley said. “We often hear that kids decide where parents go to dinner, so that’s one of the things we want to do. And if the parents can win, we win too.”

Jackson mom Allie Grant says the offer comes as families are already juggling the cost of school supplies, fees, sports and other activities.

“I think it is especially great for families, especially at the beginning of school, because you’re already juggling other expenses for school and extracurricular activities and sports,” Grant said. “It is just a little help to not have to worry about where all of that is going to come from.”

Jarod and Kara Handley say they have considered starting the program for a long time. They see it as a way to support the community that has supported their business.

“We just want to embrace the community that has embraced us,” Kara Handley said. “Jackson is family. Family is Jackson. Cape Girardeau too.”

The Handleys also want T-Ravs to remain a place where families of any size feel comfortable eating together.

“T-Ravs is a family restaurant,” Jarod Handley said. “Bring your kids, bring lots of kids, bring your whole family of 12 people. It’s no problem. Bring lots of adults as well. You know, come in and enjoy yourself and just sit back and relax.”

T-Ravs is located at 3582 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson.

“Don’t ever be scared to come in,” Kara Handley said. “We’re here for everybody.”
