Chris Janson remembers Dolly Parton as friend, mentor and ‘true icon’

TENNESSEE (KBSI) – Country music singer Chris Janson is mourning the death of Dolly Parton, remembering her as a friend, duet partner and mentor.

Janson shared a tribute following news of Parton’s death, saying hearing about her passing “stopped me in my tracks.”

“TRUE ICON, TRUE STAR, and REAL GREAT HUMAN,” Janson wrote. “We’ll always love you, Dolly.”

Janson said his family was grateful for the time they were able to spend with Parton.

Janson collaborated with Parton and Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash on the song “21 Forever,” released in 2023.
