ST. LOUIS, Mo., (KBSI) — The Saint Louis Zoo is celebrating the birth of a female Grevy’s zebra foal, the second zebra foal born at the zoo in three months.

The foal, named Magnolia, was born Aug. 16, according to the zoo.

Zoo officials said the births are significant because Grevy’s zebras are the most endangered zebra species in the world.

Magnolia and her mother, Georgia, are now out in the public zebra habitat at Red Rocks, where visitors can see them.

The zoo said both of its recently born zebra foals are currently on public view.
