Jackson County Health Department seeks input on tobacco-, vape-free outdoor spaces

JACKSON COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — The Jackson County Health Department is asking residents to weigh in on the potential adoption of tobacco-free and vape-free policies in local outdoor spaces.

The department said the proposed policies would apply to outdoor areas not already covered under the Smoke-Free Illinois Act.

Community members are being asked to complete an anonymous survey about the potential policies. Health officials said responses will be kept confidential and will help guide future policy decisions and health promotion efforts.

The project is funded through the Illinois Department of Public Health.
