Paducah business owner arrested after customers allegedly paid $45K for products they never received

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A Paducah business owner has been arrested following an investigation into allegations that customers paid more than $45,000 for cabinets and flooring they never received.

The Paducah Police Department said it received multiple reports over the past several months involving Hometown Decorating.

During the investigation, detectives determined the business’s owner, 27-year-old Bryson Wells of Paducah, had allegedly accepted payments from multiple customers for cabinets and flooring that were never ordered or delivered.

Customers told investigators that Wells stopped communicating with them and the work was never completed, according to police. The business later closed.

Investigators have identified approximately $45,300 worth of cabinets and flooring that customers allegedly paid for but did not receive.

Wells was arrested Aug. 13 without incident and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

He is charged with theft by unlawful taking of more than $10,000 but less than $1 million.

The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives believe there may be additional victims.
