Madison County firefighters arrive in Texas for wildfire deployment

MADISON COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Madison County firefighters have arrived safely in Texas, where they are assisting with the response to the Ross wildfire.
Madison County Fire Rescue said crews arrived in Texas around 6 p.m. Sunday. After arriving, firefighters met at a staging area, completed the required check-in process and traveled to their assigned hotel for the night.
Fire officials said Monday morning that crews were receiving their assignments and orders for the day’s operations.
The department said it plans to provide additional updates as information becomes available about the crews’ work and progress.
Madison County Fire Rescue thanked its firefighters for their willingness to deploy and asked the community to keep the crews, other first responders and residents affected by the wildfire in their thoughts.
