Two arrested after vandalism report leads to traffic stop in Bernie

BERNIE, Mo., (KBSI) — Two people face multiple felony charges after a vandalism report led to a traffic stop in Bernie, according to the Bernie Police Department.

Police responded Sept. 4 to a report of vandalism and suspicious activity at a local business. When an officer arrived, police said the officer saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed through a residential yard.

The officer stopped the vehicle, leading to the arrests of Andrea Gordon of Benton and Tyler Young of Matthews.

Gordon is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $20,000 cash only.

Young is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglary tools and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $50,000 cash only.

The Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants for both suspects, according to police.

Gordon and Young were booked into the Bernie Jail before being transferred to the Stoddard County Jail.
